Indian Artist
Rajib Gain Born in 1981 at Uttar Media, West Bengal, India, I entered Bengal Fine Arts College, Chandpara, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal in 2002, where I began practicing the wash medium under the guidance of Sir Samir Ghosh. Since then, I have been working continuously in this medium, developing both technical depth and artistic sensitivity. During my early years of education, I closely studied and drew inspiration from the works of esteemed artists such as Abanindranath Tagore, Abdur Rahman Chughtai, Badri Nath Ariya, Kshitindra Nath Majumder, and Nandalal Bose. Their artistic philosophies and techniques played a significant role in shaping my understanding of form, composition, and expression. At present, I am focused on evolving and expressing my own distinctive artistic style, while remaining rooted in the classical principles of wash painting.
